Comments in Acrobat DC Pro not saving, Can't access Cloud documents online

My comments are constantly disappearing from my PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. I've lost so much work and time that I don't feel confident using the product anymore for that purpose. I often dread opening my saved documents and finding that the message "No comments yet." Relatedly, I almost never see files I've uploaded to the Creative Cloud on https://assets.adobe.com/. These products just don't seem reliable for file storage. Is it just me? Please help!

2025 and I'm having a similar issue. Using Acrobat Reader  (see below). A pdf that has been saved as a form to Onedrive with comments in the form fields. When reopened all the comments have disappeared. Tried saving the file with a different name, to the Desktop, but when reopened the comments had disappeared again from the form. But when going into recent documents and opening the pdf from there, I can see the comments. Can anyone explain what is going on, please?

Hi @Scrambledeggs,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

Would you mind updating the app to the latest version (2025.001.20428) and let us know if the issue is fixed for you?

To do so, go to Menu-> Help-> Check for Updates

If not, please share a screen recording video of the workflow you are referring to for better understanding and further assistance.

Regards,
Souvik.

Hey there!

Sorry to hear about the poor experience.

Since you have confirmed its Acrobat DC you are working with. Can you please confirm where exactly you have saved the files and from where exactly you are reopening it?

++ adding on to the expert's question.

If files stored on server are not displaying the comments, then that could probably be a sync issue. Also, Adobe Acrobat DC desktop application allows access to the Document Cloud storage, and that is to when you select "Save As" and put the file manually there.

This is the Document Cloud web interface link: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/

It seems to be file sync issue between Acrobat DC and the actual location from where you are opening and uploading it.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi Akanchha,

I usually save my documents to my OneDrive. The PDFs are the only type of file that I seem to have an issue with retaining changes. It's as if my edited file is replaced or something. I try to make sure to save and close my files before leaving my computer, but every once in a while things get wiped.

When I save files to the Cloud, sometimes there's a bit of lag in the syncing, but I can usually access the file on my phone's Adobe Acrobat app or on my desktop, but never when I try to access them via the Document Cloud web interface. I'm not sure why!

Thanks

Where does you save the documents?
