Question

Compare but Exclude Certain Text Strings

I am often comparing 2 documents that are versioned and dated on every page and want to be able to filter those out of the comparison report. I have the filter set to only compare text changes (so that headers and footers are excluded) but the version # and date are not a part of the header and footer so it still shows as a change on every page, and clogs up the actual changes I need to see. It is not my document so I cannot move the version to the footer.

Is there any way to exclude changes that include a certain text string, such as "version 2.0" or "01 Jan 2023" or something along those lines?

    I don't believe that's possible.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
