Dear Community Members,

I am trying to compare two PDF files ( on desktop) where each file is of around 100 pages and it takes time to generate the output. Other option I tired by breaking the files which works but becomes bit lenghty and time consuming process. Is there a way to improve the performance of the tool by adding more memory / resources to my computer ?  If so please suggest what sort of memory / resources requried to work with large files. Also can we also try making some changes to the Acrobat settings which can give fast result ?

Waiting for the earliest respose and thanks for you help in advance.

Regards,

Hi Sandeep,

There are a number of processes in Acrobat that are slow, and some of them take over the computer making it impossible to work in other applications.

What I do when I have a chore that involves such action is that I set up the process just before taking a lunch break or at the end of the day so I can come back to the computer after lunch or in the morning and get to work with the results.

Just a thought.

Hi,

I don't think so, There are not many settings that can be altered, just the ones that show up when you click "Settings" on the compare files page

although it does depend on what changes you are looking to detect, if it is just text I have found that selecting the "Compare text only" does increase speed, although not much.
