Could you please share more details? Are you using the Acrobat desktop app or the free Acrobat Reader? Or are you using the Acrobat Online services?

As long as the PDF is not protected, you can simply export from Acrobat Pro.

Check to see what program created the PDF under the Document Properties menu. If it came from Word and is tagged, you will get decent results.
