Convert/Recognize/Extract web-based highlights

The website I use for research (Westlaw) has built-in annotation tools that I use to highlight parts of a document before downloading the highlighted pdf. The annotations show up fine in Adobe but are not recognized as annotations (in Adobe or any other pdf app). I'd like to be able to view these highlights in the comments/annotations pane, export them in an annotation summary, etc. Is there a way to accomplish this? Maybe by adjusting the annotation colors?

If they don't show up as comments it probably means they are just static graphics. If that's the case there's no way to convert them (automatically) into comments in Acrobat. If you could share a sample file with us it will be easier to help you with this, though.

Thanks for the response. Here is a sample page with highlighting.

Sorry, you're out of luck. The highlights have been flattened.
