I need to convert PDF to Excel/XML format, but via an API, because I want to use it my workflow.

Is there an Adobe solution for this?

Thanks,

Stephan

Head over to PDFTables.com. They have an API you can use to convert one or multiple PDFs all at once to XML, XLS or CSV.

I tried PDFTables, but unfortunately, it doesn't extract all the data correctly.

What is your workflow?

Customer outputs a PDF from its ERP software => PDF => Excel/XML => I write some code to get the content of the PDF.

The PDF is a form with no FDF content (duh), but has fields at fixed location. So I can extract the values.

Creating an Excel as XML file with Adobe Acrobate is perfect, the fields are marked with the col/row location so I can identify them.

It took 8 months to get the PDF from the ERP so modifying the output of the ERP is not possible in my lifetime.

I tried all the online (free/commercial) online converters, they're not able to process correctly these PDF. But Acrobat can.

So question is: does Acrobat/Adobe/someone have an API to create these Excel/XML files, online?

You should look at the LiveCycle server products.
