Question

Converting equations from word to pdf

I am encountering an issue with character encoding related to equations created in MS word. I have googled this to death and wanted to see if someone has a solution for us. The issue seems to be the font Cambria Math, but I can't figure out how to resolve it.

In the past we converted equations to images and used alt text for the reader, but it is inefficient to spell out the equation in alt text.

I am running Windows 10 and the continuous release version of Acrobat Pro.
Thanks for any help!

Hi @Elise31015498m7fs

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.03.20244 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, what are the steps you are doing to create te PDF? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful.

Would you mind sharing more details about the issue you are experiencing? Do you get any error messages when converting equations from Word to PDF? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding. A small video recording of the same would be very helpful.

We are here for help, just need more info.

Regards

Amal
