Converting Hindi pdf to Word generates garbled text; any help please?

Hi, I have a huge pdf in Hindi which I tried to extract into Word but the texts come out all garbled. The fonts do not look like images. Any idea why the texts come out garbled? I did not write the file. Any help? I am using DC Pro.

    This can happen if the file was created using an incorrect font encoding. There's not much you can do about it, especially if it's in a language that can't be OCRed using Acrobat.

    I have moved this from Acrobat Reader to Editing & Exporting PDFs.

    This can happen if the file was created using an incorrect font encoding. There's not much you can do about it, especially if it's in a language that can't be OCRed using Acrobat.
