Converting multiple pages of a PDF to grayscale.

Is there any way to input multiple pages in the Print Production --> Convert Colors section? The only three options it gives me are "All", "Current Page", and "From X to X".

I have a bunch of pages I need to convert from CMYK to grayscale, but doing it page by page is extremely tedious and time cosuming. Take my current project for example. I need to convert these pages:

1-5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19,21,23,25,27,29,31,33,35,37,39,41,43,45,47,49,51,53,55,57,59,61-63,65,67,69,71,72,76

Is there no way I can just copy and paste that into a box? Seems a bit silly...

It should be possible to use a script to extract those pages as a new file (in fact, I've already developed a paid-for tool that does just that: http://try67.blogspot.com/2011/04/acrobat-extract-non-sequential-pages.html), convert them to gray-scale (since you could now use the option to process all pages on this new file) and then use another script to import them back into the original file, replacing the current pages with the new ones.

Although we certainly understand your need, there is currently no simple way of doing this directly in Acrobat.

 

I would recommend that you recommend an ability to specify multiple pages and ranges of pages in this (and perhaps) other Acrobat dialogs at the following website that is monitored by Acrobat Engineering management: https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac
