Converting PDF to Excel spreadsheet

I currently have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and have opened a pdf file that I would like to convert to Excel using adobe. When I select to convert the file, it asks for a password that is NOT connected to the file. How do I get this password in order to complete the conversion?

What is the exact text of the password window? How do you know it's not related to the file?

Also, what your OS version? Acrobat 9 is very old and not compatible with any current operating system.

Exact wording for the request is “Please enter a Permissions Password. Enter Password”. This file is not password protected in anyway on our end so I am not sure what password Adobe is looking for to convert the file.

What does it say under File - Properties - Security?
