Question

Copy to file to clipboard not working properly

At my work one of the processes is to receive a PDF then copy it into an Excel document. At the moment the Edit -> More -> Copy File to Clipboard will only copy the page you are looking at, if you have more than one page.

Process:

Receive 3-4 page PDF

Open in Acrobat Pro

Copy file to clipboard

Open Excel file that the PDF needs to go in

Paste from clipboard, using either CRTL+v or right-click paste.

Running Acrobat Pro 2023.001.20174 and Excel 2019 v1808

Work around is to view each page and go through the process.

I can replicate issue with Word by right-clicking and Paste picture. In Word if I paste keep formatting, all the text is pasted, but I do not have that option in Excel. It is either paste or paste special where then I can choose between Picture (Enhanced Metafile) or Bitmap.

I have also tried to zoom out to like 12.5% zoom and copy. It still only pastes one page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Druss29922194emjf

Thanks for reaching out.

Please go through the help page https://www.adobe.com/uk/acrobat/resources/embed-pdf-excel.html and see if that works.

Hi Amal,

Thanks for your response. I have followed the instructions provided on that page and it has only embeded page one. I also saw the "Create from File" tab. I tried that as well, which didn't work and realised it won't as other people need to for the final spreadsheet.

To do some more troubleshooting steps, I tried the same "Copy file to clipboard" on my personal computer with Libre Office. I received the same result of only pasting the page that was being view in Acrobat reader.

Regards,

Druss

Hi @Druss29922194emjf

We are sorry to hear that the issue still persists. Would you mind collecting the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html , Procmon logs (Win Only) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html  and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud, generate the link, and share that link with us for further investigation.

Regards
Amal
