Corruption of text when copied from a PDF that was created from an original WORD document

I always provide my designers with a PDF version of the client's WORD document, as they don't all have office and WORD on their system and ensuring they see what I'm seeing is quite important. Often they cut and paste the copy provided from that PDF that I created. However, just lately the pasted copy is corrupting, offering up 'ti' within a word and presenting it as ? and 'tt' converting to 't'. Has anyone else seen this, latest case reset the client's name, so would have been a little embarrassing.

That means those characters were converted to glyphs, which are two letters that are combined into a single character. How did you create the PDF file from Word? What command did you use? Also, what font?

Thanks for your interest, I simply use the option to 'Save as Adobe PDF' from the WORD File drop down. The client's original was ProximaNova-Bold for some obscure reason. But your point about the font was great, as I've just converted the client's original to Arial then saved it as a PDF and cut 'n' pasted from that PDF and the copy is clean... it highlighted the fact that I don't have the original font on my system, so issues were bound to occur. 'A problem shared...' and all that many thanks

Glad to hear that! As a general rule, though, it's always better to use the Acrobat ribbon to convert Word files (or any other Office files, for that matter) to PDF, instead of the "Save as PDF" command.
