Question

Create a PDF (for IPad) which can be filled in using Apple Pencil and convert to text/type

I have created a template for a document which can be used on an IPad during a meeting.

In the meeting, I want to be able to write on the document using an Apple Pencil and then have whatever written convert to compute font/type.

Due ot the nature of my job (psychologist) I do not want to sit typing at a laptop in the appointment, I would prefer to use the Ipad and Apple Pencil (in place of the traditional clip board/note pad and pen!)

However, I would then like anything written to convert to computer font so if it is opened up in Microsoft Word, it will present as a word document with computer font as opposed to hand written scribble!)

Any guidance as to how to create this option in a PDF would be greatly appreciated

Siince you want a Word document, I suggest you avoid (like the plague!) PDF. PDF is almost never an easier way to do things, and converting PDF to Word is an uncertain process at best. What you want to do seems reasonable apart from the PDF part.

Hi and thanks for the response.

When I open the word document on my IPad, I am able to use the Apple pencil to write directly onto the document.

I am then struggling to find a way to convert what I have written by hand (with Apple pencil) to text.

Is this a possibility within word?

If not, is there software you would recommend which would allow me to write with my stylus and convert to text? I am using Office as this is the software I am familiar with (having used it forever!)

Try a forum for Apple software.

Not possible with Adobe Acrobat.
