Create reader extended pdf - standard or pro or livecycle?

I create PDF docs for my clients at work - in the past I had LiveCycle to design them, and then went into Reader and because with LiveCycle at the time you got Acrobat Pro, I saved the document as a reader extended PDF to allow my clients to save the fillable form with entered data.

Recently I got a new computer, and the new LiveCycle does NOT include Pro.  I have the option of getting Acrobat Standard or Pro - but am unsure which will give me the option to extend my PDFs?  Do I have to go Pro?  Or will Standard work?

OR - is there a way to do this in LiveCycle without downloading and installing a separate Acrobat program?

You will need Acrobat. Standard can be used, but it won't include the Digital Signature usage right like Pro will. Note that recent versions of Reader can save non-enabled Acroforms, but forms created with LiveCycle Designer (or whatever the latest incarnation is) will need to be Reader-enabled.

LiveCycle is a suite of apps which costs tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. I think you just mean LiveCycle Designer. It's no longer included with Acrobat, but can be purchased separately for a few hundred.
