Question

Creating bookmarks in Acrobat messes up a heading

Hi, I'm experiencing a very strange bug. I have a Heading 2 in my Word document that looks just fine when I initially export it to PDF, but when I create bookmarks in the document in Acrobat, it duplicates itself in a way that's obviously an error. No other headings in my document do this, including other Heading 2 items. I'm including screenshots because I'm not sure how to explain it clearly. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on and how to prevent it?

I'm running Adobe Acrobat XI Pro version 11.0.23 and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016. This is my work computer, and I don't have the authority to update versions or download/install anything myself.

Hi Quasigreat

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the heading duplicates itself when creating bookmarks

What is the workflow or steps taken to rrate the PDF from the Word file? Please try to crreate the PDF from the Acrobat's file menu and check Go to File > Create > PDF from files.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs that you create? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

Adobe Acrobat XI is an old and end of support application. For more information please refer to the help page End of support for Adobe Acrobat XI and Reader XI
