Using Adobe Acrobat (64 Bit) 25.1.20566
I keep reading about the ability to turn Bookmarks into Destinations automatically, but can't seem to figure it out.  I have a file with 155 bookmarks and would like be able to convert them to Destinations without having to create individual Destinations for each one.

The reason you're likely struggling to find a direct, one-click "Bookmarks to Destinations" feature is that Acrobat doesn't have a built-in, GUI-based function to automatically convert all existing bookmarks into named destinations in a batch process. While bookmarks inherently point to a specific location within a PDF, they aren't always automatically designated as "named destinations" in the background for other purposes, like linking from external documents with a simple, human-readable name. The capability you might be reading about often refers to a more technical, script-based approach or perhaps a slight misunderstanding of how bookmarks function versus how named destinations are typically created and used for external linking. Please don't hate me... but, the solution for you will involve using an Acrobat Pro Action (batch process) with a custom JavaScript. This isn't a simple button press, but it's the most effective way to automate this for 155 bookmarks.

If you don't want to dive into code. While the direct, out-of-the-box button to convert "all bookmarks to destinations" isn't present in Acrobat's standard interface, an alternative: a third-party plug-in! The most well-known and respected plug-in for this kind of advanced bookmark and destination management is EverMap's AutoBookmark Plug-in for Adobe Acrobat. This plug-in specifically offers a feature to "Create Named Destinations from Bookmarks," which is exactly what you're looking for. It's designed to automate tasks that Acrobat doesn't natively handle through its user interface or where its scripting capabilities might be needed. While it's an additional cost, for users like yourself who have a high volume of documents and frequently need this functionality, it often pays for itself in saved time and reduced frustration. It essentially fills the gap where Acrobat's standard features end, providing a powerful, user-friendly interface to manage complex linking and navigation needs without writing a single line of code.
