creating dialog boxes

hello everyone. I'd like to use a dialog box in my document but I can't find the info I need. I did find a book by Thom Parker, but I don't know if that's what I need at this point. I don't know enough to know if what I want to do can be done. I'm using ProX if that helps. And, I've seen some tutorials too. What I'd like to do is to have the box pop open and have. something like, a dropdown with items to select. Possibly some buttons to click. Also, to have other features such as dimensions of areas, length of the property line and so on. If someone knows how to get these dialog boxes done please contact me with some directions. If it can be done at all, I'd like to know that too. Thanks for your time.

We're not really sure what you're looking for since you have a book, which is way more detailed that any reply we could make for you.

I'd advise against using dialog boxes unless you NEED them because they limit delivery; it will only work in Reader, not any alternative viewer.

The first part is certainly possible, and I'm sure it's covered in Thom's extensive book.

I'm not sure what you mean by "other features such as dimensions of areas, length of the property line and so on", though. Please clarify.

I wasn't referring to anything specific. Just trying to think of some interesting things to add to one of those dialog boxes. I think they could be a cool feature to a PDF document/form.
