Question

Creating forms notification 'No new form field annotations were detected'

I am trying to create a form from a PDF which was created in Indesign. I have been doing this easily for years and using the same document with updates every year but for some reason it won't work this time.

Acrobat Pro won't automatically scan the PDF for fields and this notification comes up 'No new form field annotations were detected'. It's usually a simple process. It's a double page form with a lot of fields so I don't want to manually do it myself.

Thanks

Lucie

Did you find a solution to this?

I am having the same issue. The prepare form seems to work on older PDFs, but is not working on my new PDFs from Id2020 - giving me the error "No new form field annotations were detected"

Apparently this have been an issue for the last 5 years according to the initial date of the reported problem.
I have:

Adobe Acrobat Pro version 2024.002.20895

AcroForm.api 24.2.20895.0
Date: 2024-06-27 14:23:10

Form field auto detection is on

and it is still not working.

What is Adobe doing about this? Is there a solution that is easy to find....somewhere??

What version of Acrobat are you at . You can check the installed version using the link Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Also, please share the PDF created from Indesign. You can upload it on a drive /dropbox and share a public link here. We can take a look.
