Creating PDF from Word - Retaining File Hyperlinks

Hello, I've been having some difficulty saving Word documents which contain file hyperlinks as PDFs.

-When saving to a PDF from Word, the hyperlinks are retained, but Acrobat treats all the resulting links as web links rather than file links (opening the link in the default web browser as opposed to opening the file).

-When saving to a PDF using PDFMaker, the hyperlinks are retained and do function as file links correctly, however PDFMaker is experiencing issues with the images in the documents, and also disables Macros in Word when it runs.

I'm wondering if anyone might know if there's a way to save Word documents to PDF without using PDFMaker while properly retaining the file hyperlinks. Any tips would be appreciated, thank you!

The only way I know how is like this: Word to PDF: Download a Free Trial of WinZip  but it's not with Adobe, but a third party software. Not sure, maybe contact Adobe Support, or did you try googling it?
