Creating PDF's from Word Files Using Actions - Hyperlinks Not Working

I have to edit hyperlinks in thousands of PDF's and want to have an automated process that can perform actions at the folder level. I have been able to export these PDF's to Word (.docx) files, edited the hyperlinks using Macro (in Word). I now want to convert all these Word docs back to PDF's. Using the Acrobat Actions (convert to PDF) does not create hyperlinks in the generated PDF. What should I do?

I have "Create links from URL's" checked under "General" settings. I have also tried "Create links from URL's" on some individual files which is not working either. Any suggestions? I do not want to edit files manually.

Using Acrobat X version 10.1.16
