Where can I add the creator of a PDF.  I have scanned some manuals and booklets and have given the writer credit in the author slot.

Correct answer Test Screen Name

Operators of scanners do not get copyright or credit, they are just technicians with no legal status. If the operator gets a copyright credit because of particular work they have added, then they are now an author and should be mentioned as such.

Otherwise you can use a custom metadata by using this script in the JavaScript Console, or in an Action:

this.info.NewMetadata = "John Doe";

You can use the "PDF Producer" metadata by using this script in the JavaScript Console, or in an Action:

I tried to do what you listed.  Apparently I am not computer savy enough as it did not work.

Changing the Creator is considered VERY BAD PRACTICE. This information is used to identify software, and is sometimes needed to solve problems. If you do this in a PDF it will look strange, amateur and inconsiderate. I strongly recommend against this misuse.

OK, thanks.

The "creator" is the software used. Not a credit to a person. There is no field for such a credit.

That seems odd.  Nowhere to give the one who made the PDF any mention.  That's not right!

You can use the author entry.
