Question

Crossmarks move to different page than where I placed them

I was reviewing and marking up comments on 26 page PDF that was generated from AutoCAD drawings. Some pages had items that didn't belong, so instead of clouding or lassoing them with rectangles, I tried used the "crossmark" to identify each item to be removed. After going through the 26 pages, I returned to some pages where there shouldn't be crossmarks, but they were there in the same array as when I placed them on a different page. Adobe Help webpage is useless in searching for instructions on how to properly use the crossmark tool.

Hi @Brent3680498169vh,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat and placing cross marks.

This seems like an issue where the text field when using the cross-mark gets duplicated across other pages.

Would you mind trying out the steps mentioned in the community thread here: https://adobe.ly/4muPtLM.

This thread has a discussion similar to yours and might be helpful.

If it doesn't, please share a few pieces of information for further investigation:

1. The application version of Acrobat you are using;

2. Do you see this with every file you are working with? If yes, please share a screen recording of the issue for a better understanding.

Also, ensure that you are on the latest version of Acrobat for the best experience.

To check for updates, please go to Menu > Help > Check for Updates.

Regards,
Souvik.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, that problem was at least a week ago and I've only just seen your reply (stupid MS Outlook Promotions folder isn't as smart as they think it is). I'm not certain now which file I was editing at the time because I've reviewed many similar to that since then. Your suggestion seems a reasonable possibility so I'll watch for that if this ever re-occurs. I also didn't realise that the Crossmark tool was under Fill & Sign when I tried using it. I was just treating it like a drawing object or stamp for crossing out things that needed to be removed from the document I was reviewing. I instead used the line tool and drew two lines for each item.
