currently running 9.4.4 on a Mac and can not update to 9.5.5 keep getting error message, and told to reinstall. can I, or is 9.4. or 9.5 dead.

currently running 9.4.4 on a mac and trying to update to 9.5.5. does 9.5.5 exist or do I need to start over again with DC. I keep getting random error messages.
