Data encryption on export

Hi. If I encrypt a document with a certificate and export data fields to Google Sheets, will the data be encrypted on transit?  I am using the document locally on my computer only.

It is interesting that encrypting FDF files is in the spec, but that this capability is not provided in the API. Seems like it would be pretty important to be able to encrypt data. 

However, I believe that if the FDF is submitted to an HTTPS URL that is it is protected in transmission in the standard interenet way.
