date field not display for users of form

I created a date filed in acrobat 2020 form. I tested it and it worked fine. I sent to user to complete the form, and the date field does not display the calendar. They can type in the date and it matches the format I selected, but no calender. Any ideas why this is happening?

The calendar appearing for fields with a date format was not always part of the Acrobat/Reader experience. If the user has an older version they might not have this feature. I developed a (paid for) tool for adding popup calendars that will work with older versions and can also be added to popup dialogs in dynamic stamps, where there is no calendar for date fields, even with the latest software.

It's also not necessarily going to be available in any non-Adobe PDF viewer, as it's not really a part of the PDF Specifications. Adobe just added it on its own to make choosing a date easier, but it's not mandatory to do so.
