Date formatting in Acrobat v11 not working in standard X version

HI all,

Our agency recently upgraded our Macs (my previous one was 9 years old) and they installed version 2018.011.20055. The rest of our agency (PC users) are on standard X. I recently created an agency wide form that had date formatting, which when clicked on would show a dropped down calendar for the user to pick a date from. It seems that when a user opens a form in Standard X that no longer works. Unfortunately, we get upgraded and never get any info on changes in the software so I wanted to ask:

• Is there a new option to make this work in older versions?

• Are there any preferences I should be aware of in the new version

• If I have to add javascript to a form I created in 11, will it work in X?

I never realized that the calendar in the date formatting didn't work on PC's. I was so used to seeing it on a Mac. When you say "and they are not going to be updated any more" Is adobe no longer updated acrobat?

There's no difference between PCs and Macs in this regard. Not sure where you got that from...

Adobe only updates the current versions of the application (usually the latest one and the one previous to it, until it reaches its End-Of-Life date). Acrobat X (and XI) are both past that date and won't get any new updates.

You can use Acrobat Reader DC to fill the form.

- Not the built-in date picker. There are some third-party tools out there that will introduce this functionality into any PDF file, though.

- Not sure what you mean... What kind of "preferences"? Relating to what?

- Depends on the code. Most things should work fine, yes.

To clarify, the built in date picker no longer will work with older versions? I work for a city agency so getting any 3rd party software installed is not likely to happen and we cannot install anything on our own.

As far as preferences is there anything new that I should be aware of that would benefit workflow? I noticed that my radio and check box buttons don't need to be oversized in order to have a bold "X" inside when I use the cross for a symbol. Has there been any significant updates worth knowing about or preference options?

Not no longer, it never did work there, and they are not going to be updated any more. So no, it didn't work there, nor would it work there in the future.
