Question

*Deleted due to 22 months of ineffectual responses*

22 months after my post, I continue to receive notifications from developers advertising their tech tools and having big feelings when I point out that their reply is inherently not applicable.
For MONTHS I have requested admins delete my OP.

@Dave Creamer of IDEAS again: no 3rd party software. See OP.

Your OP said you _prefer_ not to use 3rd-party software, not to avoid it at all costs.

Are you serious?

You don't want to use third-party software because you want to archive sensitive content that is on Gmail.
Are you really unaware that Google has already read and processed all the information contained in your emails?

@JR Boulay it sounds like you're feeling disappointed in yourself and other replies for not having actually read the OP before posting That's on you, little buddy.

@paradoxblu That's a foolish and immature reply. @JR Boulay brought up a valid point about Google having access to all your content. Microsoft and Google look at your browsing, not your emails, to show you ads. Emails are bot-scanned for spam, viruses, and illegal content dealing with children. Unless you have your own server set up with a custom domain, none of. your data is private from a malicious user.

Slight modification to @JR Boulay's suggestion: That's Outlook Classic. You'll find a link for it in Outlook 365's settings.

If you looking in Office 365: Basic, it's a little too basic to have included the tool.

The entire point of my post was to NOT use 3rd party software of any kind due to the sensitivity of the content

thank you, however I explicitly named in my post "I prefer to not download 3rd party software, as the email content itself is sensitive." therefore this solution will not work.

Hello Adobe does not currently offer a dedicated tool for bulk-exporting Gmail emails as individual PDF files

Yes you can do it via adobe acrobat one by one or Google Takeout + Adobe Acrobat Automation. If you google it also you will find an article by adobe itself which is very helpful but if your putpose is backup i would like to suggest you and indutry standard tool used by both companies and working professionals - That is RecoveryTools Gmail Backup Tool it makes your work easier why?
1. You dont need to do it one by one so there is no hand starain
2. Allows you to buolk transfer from multiple accounts at one
3. Can be done in copule of steps
4. Retains the file staructure
5. You can use so many filters thus would highky recommend it.
6. Multiple format of download verison availabe so you dont need to ocnvert twice

This perosnally it is my suggestion and free trail verison is aslo vaiable which more often than not is enough to get the work done

To bulk export Gmail emails as individual PDF files, I recommend the Yota Gmail Backup Tool. It's easy to use, lets you save hundreds of emails at once as PDFs, and keeps your data secure on your device. You can also try the free demo version first. Let me know if you need help getting started!

in my OP and subsequent replies I explicitly and repeatedly detailed that no 3rd party apps would be appropriate for this purpose.

Everyone loves free solutions, this is why i share an easy method for saving Gmail emails as a PDF file.

Steps to save Gmail Emails as PDF file:

  1. Export Your Gmail Emails using Google Takeout.
  2. Use Any MBOX to PST Converter tool.
  3. Convert your MBOX file to PST format.
  4. Import PST file into your Outlook App.
  5. Save Individual Emails as EML or MSG file.
  6.  Locate your exported Email and print as PDF.
  7. Save your email in .pdf format.

Please observe, I indicated explicitly I do not wish to install nor utilize
an additional 3rd party application.

Then you have only one option use email client like thunderbird to sync imap conection with gmail mail account. And save the chosen email as pdf file.

Thank You
This didn't end up working for me ultimately, I wasn't able to open the mbox file into thunderbird.
I did attach my gmail account to thunderbird, but it wouldn't permit me to batch print to pdf nor export to pdf there either.

thank you though!

Hi @paradoxblu ,

++ Adding to @smithjens361000419f7n suggestion,

There are a few additional manual tweaks that must be employed in combination with several other steps in order to have Thunderbird to be able to see the files in MBOX as described in this article:

But my main guess is to stick to Mozilla Thunderbird support forums and use free add-ons for Thunderbird.

Download and install Outlook, set it up to use your Gmail account.

Then use the Acrobat tools to export all emails as PDF, this can be automated too.

You don't need to buy/licence Outlook, as you can see on the capture it works fine even without subscription.

A paid subscription of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC may be required (as shown in the screenshot) in order to be able to use the Acrobat PDFMaker plug-in that integrates with Microsoft's Office365 products such as,  Outlook for example.

I think this would be a Google functionality, more than an Adobe one...

Yes, and yet, the Gmail Backup Tool I mentioned is an Adobe-mentioned Acrobat product.

Ha, interesting. I wasn't aware of this tool, and I don't see where you would download it from...
