Ich erhalte immer nach Acrobat Updates folgende Meldung:

Der temporäre Ordner kann nicht erstellt werden. Fehler:3
Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden.

Wie kann ich das Problem lösen?

Hi @Jan Forster

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry for the trouble with this error appearing after each update.

This error usually means Distiller can't find (not just access) the folder it's trying to write temporary files to, which points to either a broken environment variable or a missing folder rather than a permissions issue. A few things worth checking:

  1. Press Windows + R, type sysdm.cpl, and press Enter. Go to the Advanced tab, then click Environment Variables.

  2. Under both User variables and System variables, check the TEMP and TMP entries. Confirm the path they point to actually exists (for example, C:\Users<yourname>\AppData\Local\Temp). If the folder is missing, create it manually with that exact name and location.

  3. Open that Temp folder and check whether a subfolder named "Acrobat Distiller" (or similar, matching your version) exists. If it doesn't, create it manually. If it does exist, right-click it, go to Properties, and make sure the Read-only attribute is unchecked, since other users found this specific setting was the actual cause of a related temp-folder error.

  4. In Acrobat, go to Help > Repair Installation, then restart your computer.

Since this specifically reappears after Acrobat updates, it's possible the update process is resetting or removing this folder, or restoring the Read-only attribute, each time. If the manual fix above works but the error returns after your next update, that would confirm it, and it's worth reporting that pattern so it can be looked at.

For reference, here's a community thread where a similar temp-folder error was resolved this same way: Unable to create the temporary folder: Error 183.

Let us know if this resolves it.

Regards,
Amal
