Desperate to delete old signature used in free version and to create a new one

I guess that's the issue. I urgently need to digitally sign two key documents for a patent application. I signed one. Then the option to use the signature greyed out. It is visible (an scanned image of my handwritten signature), but in all other ways unusable. So I upgraded to Pro. Same issue.

I've created a new digital certificate and assigned its use to e-sign. Yet, all options under "Use certificate" remain greyed, and "Fill&Sign" still shows me the old image of my signature, but does not let me use it. I used the Updater to install all available add-ons. No change. I am at my wit's end. Lend an old man a hand, please.

Hi Bubbly_Essence5727 ,

In such forms, it generally requires a physical signature, or you have the option to proceed after filling in all the form fields. We suggest that you check the information with the support team for the website from which you downloaded the form.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Bubbly_Essence5727,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

The options are generally greyed out when form fields are added to the document, and the Signature field is not selected to use the digital signature. It is how the form was created, not the application issue. Try to check if you can add a digital signature to other PDFs.

Would it be possible for you to share the screen recording or the screenshot showing what happens? So we can check and confirm.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Thanks for clarifying that. The functionality remains if I open a fresh blank of the first pdf I signed, and inactive on the second, be it filled in with data or a fresh copy. I assume this means, as you say, that the Signature field is not selected to use the functionality. Indeed, if Iuse the "Fill&Sign" menu choice, I get a little popup that says "The author of this form has specified the fields which you can fill. Click on any field to start filling form." I suppose this means the situation is as you describe. So my remaining question is, the field only allows for text entry and does not allow me to paste in a clipboard image of my signature. What should I conclude, that text is all they need? The form is ostensibly for online submission, so they logically must not be counting on me physically printing and signing.

Thanks for your patience with walls of text.
