Difficulties with the new Comments Tool an Interface January 24

Dear Community,

I find the new version of Acrobat is making a lot harder to insert comments and notes,

I used to be able to put the cursor anywhere, type a word and it would be inserted just like that; backspace and there would be a red line would be across the text; type over the text and blue line would indicate I want to replace a word with another … all in all very intuitive!

Now for the same task I need three clicks and to pick the color or type of edit I want each time, or select text zone + pick the tool, I want to replace text and tool is still red from previous settings and vice versa, so I select and pick again, etc.

I'm a proofreader and losing a considerable amount of time with these new features, and making more involuntary mistakes in classifying the type of comments for my clients to find more easily.

I understand that I need some time to get familiar with interface updates but I have been at it for two weeks and still struggle and waste time.

So my question is, are there any ways I can get back to a previous version temporarily? Or have secret settings on that would restore, among other things, the typing functions I so dearly miss? Or, as a last resort, weep about it to Adobe?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Have a great day

You must revert to the Classic UI: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-2023-how-to-revert-to-classic-gui-user-interface/td-p/14052807
Consider the "new Acrobat" as a beta version, many features are still missing or half-implemented.

Hello Amal,

Thank you very much for aswering, it's nice to hear you are taking feedback into account.

For now, I was able to go back to the new version thanks to the help page you provided, awesome! I'll copy below the section that explains how, in case someone else wants to figure out how to disable the new version.

The new experience is an exciting step forward for Acrobat's future. But if it doesn’t suit your needs, you can still revert to the previous experience.

  • Windows: Select the hamburger menu, and then choose Disable new Acrobat.

  • macOS: Go to View > Disable new Acrobat.
