Digital Signature

Hey everyone,
I used to be able to click Fill & sign to add my digital signature on all of my PDFs.  I'm trying to currently sign a PDF and the only options I see are Aa, -, X and sign  (which is me typing in my name).  Am I in the wrong version?  I created a new digital signature in preferences but it said I already had one.  If I have one, why can't I click, outline the area, fill in my password and Acrobat signs it.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Kindest regards-

whats the difference between fill & sign signature & digital ID?  Some pdf require ONLY didital ID, and gives errors when trying to paste in the "fill & sign".  My ceo wants to be able to "digially sign" the pdf from his phone or whatever device he is using at the time, when I create the certificate ID it seems to be saved locally on the PC. Can it be uploaded to his adobe creative cloud profile?  Adobe does not make this easy to understand or to do

Hi,

First off, you neveer copy and paste into a digital signature field you get an error because the action of digitally signing a PDF document is in place precisely as a layer of security.

The way and how a digital signing workflow is achieved in Adobe Acrobat by using the Fill & Sign tool is described here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how-to/fill-and-sign-pdf-forms.html

Now you can create a digital certificate to initialize or certify other parts of a document in which case, for instance, the same person needs to apply many signatures accross  a large docments that have  many pages to sign... but never copy and paste.

The Fill & Sign will allow you to type text, insert an image or draw your own signature,  but again,  not by trying to force a copy and paste action.

Now, on the other hand, digital IDs work a little different and it involves encryption and additional layers of security and trust relationships.

You can also use a common access card to apply a digital signature using a digital certificate, OR, you can create one yourself which can be saved locally in your computer and apply it whenever you have to sign a document.

To learn how to do this see here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/digital-ids.html#targetText=In%20Acrobat%2C%20click%20the%20Edit%20menu%20and%20choose%20Preferences%20%3E%20Signatures,Trusted%20Certificates%2C%20and%20click%20More.&targetText=Select%20this%20option%20if%20you,digital%20ID%20to%20the%20list.

I'm trying to figure out how to apply digital signature (or real one saved in the app) using the Adobe Fill & Save iOS app. The app permits us to create and save a profile of name, address, etc., which includes a signature and real initials. However, in the sample Acrobat form that comes with the app, one cannot see that profile info appear. It seems you need to fill out the form separately.

Any secrets to make ones app profile info appear in forms?

This works. Click Certificates, Digitally Sign. Works like the previous version as Fill and Sign.

Hi EJ2001

Could you please let us know the dot version of Adobe application and OS you are using.

Please also share the exact steps you do to add your signature to PDF.

Regards,
