Disable New Experience not sticking

I've attempted to disable the "new experiece" 3 times but its not working. It just keeps reopening to the new layout. I'm paying for a subscription to PRO and I want my old layout back! In addition my files in the directory no longer have an icon.

I've branched your post from the middle of a thread with 177 posts so it will be better seen. I've also changed the title to reflect your issue.

I'm tagging employee @S. S to have a look.

As to the icons, that's an OS issue, not an Acrobat issue. It's called "changing the Association". When the OS sees .pdf, it chooses an application to open PDFs. If it's not the app you want, it's easy to change:

EDIT: posted the correct link to Microsoft (apologies)

NOTE: a web search for "file associations" +  your OS (Windows or macOS) will bring up a host of hits

FYI: As to the information you provided below:

My file icons were fine until your "New Experience" was introduced.
I have already established a file association.
There is no Windows option in the links you provided.
This is ENTIRELY an Adobe issue, as these types of problems always are.

Hi @Marc212897640wr4,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the experience!

Thanks, Jane, for tagging me here.

Marc, when you mention "attempted to disable the new experience," would you mind briefing me on the steps you took to do so?

The following events you mention sound strange and shouldn't be happening.

Understanding the workflow you follow would be a great start to go through with the troubleshooting.
