Question

Disapearing Link OBJR tags

I am currently working on exporting an InDesign document to an accessible PDF and am encountering significant difficulty with the references that contain multi-line hyperlinks.
I am aware of the known issue that often requires re-creating these multi-line links directly in Adobe Acrobat. However, even after successfully re-creating the links in Acrobat, the <Link OBJR> tag frequently goes missing. The behavior seems inconsistent: sometimes the OBJR is created, and sometimes it is not. Even when I manage to successfully recreate the link with the correct OBJR tag, it occasionally disappears again.
I have also tried isolating the references, recreating the links within a separate document, and then importing them back into the main file, but this process causes the OBJR tags to vanish once more.
Could you please provide insight into why this might be happening? Is this a known bug or a documented issue, and do you have any recommended steps for a reliable fix? The process of achieving an accessible PDF has become unexpectedly difficult and time-consuming.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Have you started experiencing this issue recently or was it occurring earlier as well?

What is the version of the Acrobat Application and the OS you are using? Go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure it's updated to the latest version 25.01.2084X. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, check if it's a file-specific issue or not. Please try with a different PDF file/s and check.

Please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs along with a sample PDF file do we can try to reproduce the issue at our end for further investigation.
