Question
Do Acrobat document security settings carry over once the PDF is uploaded to Drive?
I have several PDFs that I edited for accessibility and security in Acrobat, and I'm trying to share them using Google Drive. The Adobe settings prevent editing, copying, and printing in high-def, so that anyone can read the PDF, but it's at least a little harder for people to plagiarize the content.
When I upload the PDFs to Drive, it's very unclear whether those settings have carried over or not. When I open the Google link preview to the PDF, I can easily copy and paste and print. I haven't found any options to fine-tune these settings in Google other than the general permission settings (which are pretty all-or-nothing with no option to permit some actions and not others).
Anyone have any insight into this? Is there any way to protect my PDFs across platforms and PDF readers? Is there a better PDF editor for this? Should I just use a different file sharing platform? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!
