Do I finally have to abandon acrobat reader?

I'd like the toolbars in red and yellow gone for good, and the table of contents on the right moved to the left?  Is this possible in acrobat or do I have to look for another PDF reader finally? 

Just as an aside, the preferences pages for acrobat look like they were designed by someone who had never seen a well laid out preferences page before.  Adobe, please have a developer who has used a Jetbrains IDE in the past 10 years sit down with management and show them what a dog's dinner the antiquated acrobat's settings pages are by comparison.
