Document Merge

When attempting to merge separate documents into one, Adobe seems to just ADD the documents to each other rather than MERGING.  In my case Im trying to merge three documents from three editors.  When I combine them I get all three documents in serial and NOT merged into a single, merged doc.  This doc is 17 pages, instead of a single merged doc with 17 pages with all the changes on each page, I get a doc with 51 pages.  This is not useful as I then have to manually combine the changes down to a single version.  How do I get Adobe to MERGE the docs vice just adding them serially to a single file?

Do you mean you want to impose the pages one on top of another? If so, that's not merging.

You can do it by adding the documents as layers to the original file, but you will have to do them one file at a time.

one way;

start with one doc>organize pages>add

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
