Document Security- How to Unallow/Prohibit Page Extraction?

Hi,

I have tried repeatedly to restrict Page Extraction from my PDF. However, after I chose "Changes Allowed: Filling in form fields and signing existing signature fields", set the compatibility to Acrobat X and later, and set the password, two very important functions I want to block are still allowed:

Page Extraction: Allowed

Creation of Template Pages: Allowed

How do I specifically block/unallow/prohibit page extraction since page extraction completely works around permissions? (A dialog box appears when extracting pages that reads: "Pages extracted from a secure file will lose their security settings.")

While I know this method isn't foolproof, the people I am sending the document to would likely not use a third-party app to break permissions or try for longer than 5 minutes- except if they extract the pages...

Hi there,

Sorry for te delay in response.

As you need to restrict the page extraction from the document, please refer to the steps provided below:

- Open the PDF form in Acrobat and go to Tools.

- Select Protect tool

- Click on Ecrypt > Encrypt with password

- Under "Permissions", Check the box for "Restrict editing and printing..."

- In the drop donw for "Changes allowed", select "Filling in form fields and singing existng signature fields"

- Make sure that the box for "Enable copying of text, image and other content" is not marked.

- Set the password and save the document.

Now close the PDF and reopne it. Check if it still shows the page extraction as allowed under security in Document properties.

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi
