Documents\*.pdf is missing

I'm not sure when it happened, but apparently the adobe ports "documents\*.pdf" and "desktop\*.pdf" are now missing on one of my computers.  That computer is running Acrobat Pro on Windows 7.  I can still make pdfs, but I have a program that needs the port "documents\*.pdf".  I have tried

Repair installation in Acrobat

Check for updates in Acrobat
I even tried uninstalling both creative Acrobat and Creative cloud and reinstalling them.  
I am not finding many other solutions in my internet searches, so I am reaching out for suggestions.
