Question

Does acrotray.exe cause a licensing check in a TLP licensed installation on a Remote Desktop Host?

We currently have a great number of users using an array of RDSH servers.

Only a certain number of users use Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and the rest just use Adobe Reader.

Acrotray.exe loads for all users due to Explorer Menu integration and Microsoft Office Application Add-Ons.

As the number of total users exceeds our purchased TLP license count, I'd like to know if acrotray.exe is causing a license check or not.

Reason being is user's will occasionally get the error message "Your request could not be completed.  Adobe Acrobat DC license has either expired or not been activated" when using an Acrobat DC Pro function or the full application.

Thank You!

Certainly acrotray is licensed only as part of Acrobat (it makes the Adobe PDF driver work) so a license check would be reasonable. Acrobat installs many system components, it seems to me everyone on that system will be using part of it, and each needs a license.
