Question

Does Adobe Acrobat Pro have smart type for long drop-down lists?

We have a growing drop-down list in an Adobe Acrobat Pro document.  My team wants to be able to filter in that list without having to scroll all the way through it.  Does Adobe Acrobat Pro have smart type or auto type?

Only for the first letter. If you type "N" it will go to the first item that starts with "N", but if you type "E" afterwards it will not go to the item that start with "NE", but to the one that start with "E".

There is an option, though, to filter the list, using an external text field. I've developed a (paid-for) tool that allows you to set it up very easily: https://www.try67.com/tool/acrobat-create-live-filtered-list

Thanks much!  This is a big help!  So what I am able to do beyond the first letter is type the first two to get the category drop-down, but when I type the full name it goes directly to it.  I'll pass along to my team.  Thanks again!

No, beyond the first letter you can't do anything. It will always jump to the item that starts with the letter you type, regardless of the previous letters you entered. Unless if you've already selected an item that starts with that letter and you type it again then it will jump to the next item that starts with that letter.
