Question

Does editing of geo-referenced maps lose geo reference?

Hi,

I  create geo-referenced PDF maps out of ArcGIS desktop.

I am just using a free version of PDF at the moment and wondering if the editing of those geo-referenced PDF, for example adding text and freestyle drwaing in, will result in the loss of geo reference?

It did lose the geo reference when I edited the PDF on OneDrive.

Hopefully someone here tried it before and knows the answer.

If it doesn't lose the geo reference then I'd probably go on purchasing the licence.

Cheers,

Satoru

No, most edits will not affect the geo reference data. However, any edits to the page content can invalidate the reference.

The full version of Acrobat provides a geo reference feature, so you can re-reference it if necessary.

I'd love to know more about how to re-reference a file with Acrobat Thom, can you please provide details?
