Question

Does output of export to text complies with Windows (default) encoding? compare text of two PDFs

I need help with what encoding is in output of export PDF to Text.

This Question arise because when I use Word to open a text file exported from PowerPoint to PDF, then PDF to XML, I am asked to choose a Text encoding?

  1. how to know that I should not choose Windows (default)?
  2. Does exporting PowerPoint to XML change the encoding to non-Windows?

This question is only pertinent when Adobe Compare results in false positives; a character change gets reported as Add and Delete. While waiting for fix, I am looking for alternative for Automated Text Markup.

Thanks for your support!

No, you aren't asked an encoding. But yes, you can set an encoding:

There is no “Windows” encoding. You could use an encoding of your liking, if that is your standard encoding, or if your XML does not show up as expected, but as long as you use the same encoding, the results should be the same.
