Question

Doesn't automatically detect fillable form

I have to fill in 2 fillable forms, but when I open the files in acrobat reader, it won't automatically recognise them as being fillable. Do I have to activate something that allows this? I understand that it should come up automatically with red boxes that I can click on, but it doesn't.

I have checked for updates but there weren't any. I have also deleted the programme and reinstalled it, but it is exactly the same. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there something I can do to solve it?

In Acrobat Reader try Fill&Sign.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Bernd Alheit, but they won't accept the form as being filled in correctly like that.

After much faffing around, I finally discovered that if I open the file directly from the email into Adobe acrobat reader it will recognise the boxes. But if I download and save the form on my pc first, then it won't recognise the autofill sections when I open it up. Not sure why this would be, it seems strange. At least I have solved the problem for the moment,  although if anyone from the Adobe team is reading this then perhaps they can still look into it and find out why I can't save the form before filling it in. Cheers.

What OS, what version of Reader, and how are you saving the PDF file to your PC? Are you using Outlook, some other Mail program it are you using your web browser to read your mail. If using a browser which one? There are different ways of saving PDFs to a computer to a PC and they do not always result in the file being saved in the same way.
