Hello,

does anyone know if I can downgrade from the new update 2023.003.20244? I haven't seen anything as catastrophic as this update in years, it will be hell to work with this. I use a Mac - can I somehow get the version from before that one?

Hi @Julia31541172rzli

Sorry to hear about the unpleasant experience.

You have been switched to the Acrobat Modern Viewer with the latest update. Is there anything specific that you do not like about the Modern Viewer?

Your feedback is valuable to us. If you could help us with your thoughts, that would be help in the future for feature enhancement.

To know more about it, here a complete guide that will walk you through the exact steps: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/new-acrobat-experience.html

Thanks,

Akanchha

Yes, there is. The problem is the new floating menu for "Add comment". The menu, if activated, used to be on top of the page, so you could access everything with one click, like this:

Now with the new menu, I have to laboriously access everything with at least two clicks. It is beyond annoying and time-consuming.

I am an editor and I work on lage pdfs which may have hundreds of comments and corrections. This will add to my workload no end. What on earth possessed the developers to make it HARDER to access tools? What is the point? Also, there seems to be no way to enlarge the menu so all buttons are visible or to put some of the buttons that you use a lot at the top for fast access. If that was possible, things would not be quite so bad! Like this, it is catastrophic and I would really like to have the old version back. Is there any way to do this?

Your feedback is valuable to us. Please share your findings with our product team here: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

For now, there's an option to disable the New interface. So you can roll back to the old UI for the time being:

  • Click on the hamburger icon in the upper left corner.
  • Click on Disable New Acrobat
  •

The help article certainly redirects to the new user interface, which also applies to Mac. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/new-acrobat-experience.html

Thanks,
