Question

"Download Form Field Data" is missing filled data that is visible on PDF

I use Adobe Acrobat Sign to send out forms that require some basic information from the Signer. For example:
-Organization
-Address
-City
-State

-Zip

-Contact Name

-Contact Email

-Contact Phone Number

-Type of Event

-Number of Participants

-Non Profit (this is a linked set of radio buttons with the options being "Yes" and "No")

For my workflow, I collect all of these forms that come in by a certain date and process them in batches based on some ranking critera. That criteria includes things like the type of event, number of participants, and non-profit status.

All the fields I listed above are marked as "required" so the signer isn't able to submit the form without filling them all out. When I view the PDF, I can see that they've all been filled out. When I "Download Form Field Data", some of the field values will be missing. It isn't always the same fields that have missing values, and once in a while none of the values will be missing.

I am using a template and bulk send to send these forms out, so I know everyone is getting the exact same version.

Any idea why seemingly random data will be missing upon download? Additionally, the fields are all jumbled up in a wacky order on download, so if anyone knows how to fix that that would also be appreciated.

Hi Alex33460777idgo,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the delay in response.

As mentioned, some of the filled data is missing when you use the feature "Download Form Field Data". Please ensure that those fields come under the Data field. You may refer to the information on Exporting field data from the agreement in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/kb/export-data-from-document--has-form-data----adobe-sign.html

Try checking the form field data that is missing in the sheet. Also, when you say "once in a while none of the values will be missing. " please confirm if you are referring to the same agreement.

It would be really helpful if you could share some screen recordings of the scenario in a private message. You may initiate a private message using the envelope icon at the top right corner of this community page.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20857 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here (https://adobe.ly/3W3jKGn) and see if that works.
