Downloading PDFs in Chrome

When I click to download a pdf in Chrome, the downloads panel/bar appears. If I click on the file, it opens in a new tab in Chrome. Is there a way to have downloaded pdfs STILL appear in the downloads panel/bar but open in Adobe on my desktop every time I click it? I have a Macbook Pro 2023.

I tried the "Always open in system viewer" setting, but pdfs stop appearing in the downloads panel/bar.

I do not want to switch to using the downloads bubble.

Hi @Reagan314313416yqy

This is the design behavior of Chrome. Once the downloaded file is opened, it will disappear from the download panel at the bottom. We can do nothing about it as it's a web browser's architecture designed this way.

Acrobat doesn't play any part in it.

When you first download the file, you can right-click on it and show it in the folder instead of opening it from the download panel at the bottom.

Changing this setting may help you open the files from the saved location. Chrome>Download>Settings

Thanks,

Akanchha
