Drop down menu disappears

When in acrobat reader, I was abe to select a text (word) by double clicking and then ctrl-c for copy and then select the highlighter in the dropdown menu and I was good to go, now for some reasong as soon as I ctrl-c to copy the dropdown menu disappears? What changed?

@knowledgeable_Dazzle2573 When you double-click text, a small floating toolbar usually appears near the selected text, giving you options like Highlight, Copy, etc. 

When you use a keyboard shortcut like Control , the program likely interprets this as the action you intended to perform on the selection and then it might dismisses the floating toolbar immediately to clean up the screen. It didn't disappeared on my end though only because I had 'Disabled new Acrobat' — If you have a newer version of Acrobat Reader, you might be using the "New Acrobat" experience, which is known for making significant UI changes.You can turn this off and selecting this option will revert the application to the previous user interface, which should restore the behavior you are used to.

I am having the same issue. The suggestion above does not fix it.
