E-fax PDF Custom Page Size Issue

We are switching from pots lines to efax for incoming and outgoing faxes.  We're using the same MFP printers that had the pots lines, so I'm trying to set it up to automatically poll the mailbox we use to received e-faxes and automatically print them.  I've got everything working except the automatic print.  When the printer (which supports pdf's) opens the attached PDF and tries to print, it fails to match the PDF's page size (8.64 x 10.76) with the 8.5 x 11 paper in tray 1.  The only way I can get it to automatically print is to change the size of the paper in Tray 1 to be custom 8.64 x 10.76.  If it's set to a non-matching size, the print job errors until someone walks over to the printer and selects Tray 1.  Then it prints just fine.  Does anyone have a workaround for this?  We use Ricoh IM series printers.

You may want to try using Acrobat's Shrink oversized pages and Fit options, as shown in the Acrobat print screen below:

Using either of those options tells Acrobat to ignore the sheet size of your original PDF and scale it automatically to fit the margins inside your printer's letter-sized sheet. You may find that either/both of those options help you get the jobs through your Ricoh printers.

Hope this helps,

I wish I could!  The problem is that these PDF never goes through a PC.  It gets dl'd, opened and printed by the Ricoh IM Printer directly using Auto Reception and Auto Print functions.  The printer's configuration page shows some setting that look promissing, but they don't seem to make a difference when I set them.  It looks like this Auto Print function is hard coded to only allow printing if the PDF page size and paper size in the printer match exactly.  The problem is that E-Fax ALWAYS sends the attachement (tiff or pdf) with a custom page size.  It looks like I'm just going to have to find an alternate way of doing this.

That's a drag. It might be on your Ricoh rep to help you through this one.

Wish I could help,
