Don't listen to Abambo he's a D. Just manage plan and switch to whichever plan costs the least then cancel that one immediately which will then refund you your money for switching over.

or just have your card block any purchases coming from them if that's an option for you. But this will most likely have your adobe account terminated.

That happens, but you can't blame Adobe for that.

I wasn't super stressed because when I was signing up the subscription was worded as if it was a MONTH TO MONTH charge, so if I forgot to unsubscribe (which I have done with services in the past) I would be safe. Unfortunently it turns out that it is a yearly subscription that is charged monthly.

There is a monthly subscription and an annual subscription. Student subscriptions are only available as annual subscriptions. The monthly subscription is pricier. This is my screen, when I would take the subscription:

Looks obvious to me. The screen you got presented may have been less obvious, however.

After taking the subscription, you got a confirmation e-mail with all the conditions listed.

I've seen a bunch of other posts bout this, so I now I'm not the only person who has made this mistake. I've also seen some responses to those posts talking about how it is our responsibility to read everything before we subscribe to something. That is a valid point, but given the amount of people talking about this it is clearly a problem that should be adressed. It should be made more clear when subscribing that it is an annual subsciption and you will be charged a cancellation fee.

Let's assume that people are not reading the terms and conditions and miss out the cancellation fees. How would you make that clearer? The early cancellation fee is because you took an annual subscription, and you are breaching your contract. As you have an annual subscription, Adobe could probably also insist that you pay for the full year. I'm not sure, why they don't do that, but I suspect some legal aspects. And yes, not reading the terms is a mistake that many make. It's not that the terms are that much to read.

I don't care if they technically told me this in the agreement, that no one reads, when signing up.

I read those. My prospective cell phone agreement was a full-page text, written in so small characters that you may need a loupe to read them. I did read them in front of the agent, who got nervous because of the waiting crowd behind me. I did not take the agreement because of one or two conditions in, that were different from those of the competitor. You learned reading, use that talent.

It is 2024, and nearly everything is a subscription now; this is a sad reality which I hate, but if we are going to live in a subscription only world you think that the LEAST companies could do for us is offer us the courtesy of being abbble to canel when we want to without being punished.

You could have chosen the monthly subscription, which is much pricier. But for a month or two only, it's more economical. But as a student, you should also have the knowledge for using free alternatives. They exist, and normally students are very well-informed on those alternatives. They may lack the bells and whistles of Acrobat, however.

You may try contacting customer service for this, and may be, if you stay friendly and negotiate well, you will get a deal. Adobe customer care can be contacted by beginning a secure chat session at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen. Pop-up blockers need to be disabled, you need to accept cookies! If the chat window fails to open, or is non-responsive, use a different device and/or browser to start the interaction.
