Hello, I have a scanned PDF document that I need to edit but it won't allow me because it says I need Adobe Pro and I have DC.  I signed up for a free trial of Pro but it still won't allow me to edit the doc.  Will I need to uninstal the DC in order to use the Pro?

"DC" is a version, not an app. This may be what's throwing you. There is Acrobat Pro DC, a subscription, and Acrobat Reader DC, free. If you want to edit you need TWO things

1. Subscribe to Acrobat Pro DC

AND

2. Stop using Acrobat Reader DC, use Acrobat Pro DC instead.

Nothing will change Acrobat Reader to let it let. This is especially confusing because SOME of the add ons DO change Reader. But not this one.

Hi Default,

No, that shouldn't be required, Acrobat Reader (the correct name) and Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Pro (Acrobat is not available for Macs but Acrobat Pro is avialable for Macs and PCs) can live side by side with no issue.

Now, back to your document:

—How did you scan the document? (What kind of scanner did you use? Did you take a photo of the document? Did someone else scan this and send it to you? If so, how did they scan the document?)

—What format did you scan to? (What is the suffix of the document: JPG, TIF, PDF, what?)

—How are you trying to edit? (Are you just opening up the document and trying to edit? Are you going to the Edit Tool withing Acrobat Pro? What are you doing?)

—And lastly, what is your OS (and what release)?

Sorry for all the questions but to give you a good answer, I/we need the information above.

Thanks!

I scanned to document of my home printer.

Format was PDF.

Yeah I'm just opening it then using the bar on the side that says edit PDF.

I'm not sure what the OS is.  It's just Adobe Acrobat DC

OS stands for operating system. Are you on Mac or PC and what version of that operating system are you on?
